A Pleasing Society Function.
The post nuptial reception to the Acton friends of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin I. Francis was held at "Idlywild Place" the groom's old home, on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The happy couple arrived in Acton on return from their Georgian Bay trip on Monday evening and were kept busy on Tuesday in receiving the good wishes of their friends here. In the afternoon the general reception was held and Acton society took advantage of the opportunity to meet Mr. I. Francis' bride. Mrs. Francis jr., in her wedding gown, with Mrs. I. Francis, received in the front parlor. The tea-room, which by the way was prettily decorated with flowers in a color scheme of white, green and yellow, and contained a table tastily trimmed with floral loops hung from the ceiling, was presided over by Mrs. De Lacy, the bride's mother, assisted by Mrs. D. M. Henderson, Miss Nicklin and Miss Daisy Nicklin, who served dainty refreshments. The house throughout was decorated for the occasion and an unique floral scheme for the staircase was noticed, in the evening the immediate friends of the bride and groom and the family were present and a particularly enjoyable evening was spent. Music and the customary social delights were indulged and after a dainty lunch served tete-a-tete fashion at small tables, the company departed wishing abundance of happiness to the young couple. Among the friends of the bride and groom from out of town who were present on Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. De Lacey, Smithville; Mrs. Young, Toronto, who, by the way, is a splendid pianiste and singer and whose willing services in that regard were much appreciated, Miss Ada Francis, Toronto, and Miss Henderson, Seaforth. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Francis return to Toronto this morning and will reside at 39 Winchester Street.
