OBITUARY
MRS. GEORGE LESLIE
A fine motherly Christian woman passed away on Tuesday morning when Mrs. George Leslie, of Erin, entered into rest. Mrs. Leslie suffered from a stroke some months ago and has been almost a helpless invalid since. Three weeks ago she was driven up to the home of her son, Harvey, at Orton with a view to giving her a change. It was here she died. The body has been brought back to the home at lot 6, first line, Erin, and the funeral will be held from there this afternoon at 3 o'clock to Fairview cemetery, Acton. Amanda Stafford was the daughter of the late Sumner Stafford and came to Acton with her parents a little over fifty years ago. Fifty years ago she was joined in holy wedlock with her sorrowing husband, Mr. George Leslie. For nearly fifty years they lived together. Seven sons and daughters blessed the home and hers is the first death to occur in the family. The children are Miss Amy at home, James, of the third line, Erin; Ira and Joel, on the homestead; Henry at Eden Mills, Mrs. Jessop, of Erin, and Harvey at Orton. Mrs. Leslie was a woman of fine character. Her home and her church were always her first concern. From the time of her marriage until her death she was connected with the Siloam Methodist Church, and was one of its most faithful attendants. She was highly esteemed in the community and "her children rise up and call her blessed."
