Death of John Morris in England
Particulars of the death of John Morris from blood-poisoning at his old home at Clayton, Eng., were received by his brother, Mr. Tom Morris, Main Street, last week. After spending a year or two in Acton Mr. Morris left here about three years ago. After residing for a few months in Galt he went to British Columbia and took a position on the C.P.R. steamers running between Vancouver and Seattle, and made his home in Victoria. About a year ago he had his foot crushed by a door closing upon it with force, and went to the hospital at Victoria for treatment, remaining there for nearly a year. On the fifth of August last he left for his home in England arriving there the last of the month. After his arrival his wounded foot grew worse and blood-poisoning set in. He died on the 16th October. Mr. Morris was a Christian young man and during his stay in Acton made many friends. His untimely death is much regretted. He was buried in the family plot beside his father and mother in the cemetery at Muston, Eng.
